The area where 149th Street intersects with Third, Willis, and Melrose Avenues was once known as “the Times Square of the Bronx” because it served as a hub for transportation, shopping, and cultural sites. Can the “Bronx Hub” be reborn in the 21st century as the center of a new “Downtown Bronx?”
