This program is related to the exhibition The Future of the New York Metropolitan Area: The Fourth Regional Plan.

From transportation to affordable housing to climate resilience, cities across the world are discovering unique ways to become smarter and more sustainable. On October 18, join Regional Plan Association and the Consulate General of Sweden for Building Smart & Sustainable Cities and Regions,” presentations and discussions of current trends and future work.

Speakers from Sweden’s Viable City Initiative, a partnership among national and local government, academia, and business to promote research and applications of smart city technologies in transportation and energy efficiency, Econsult and ESI Thought Lab, a group currently undertaking a global study of value of smart city technologies with input from government, business and citizens, and Microsoft will share ideas about the future of our cities.
